if you want to grab the best jousting deal in a long time, have your lindens ready Friday, June 20th for the opening of the 4th SLTA Intersim Joust Season in NEVERMORE. (NOTE: Release date was pushed back to June 23 for the DVE Medieval Games System Alpha version1.0)

That’s when Jotow Resident of Nevermore will make his new jousting system available for sale, from his company DVE (Digital Vortex Engineering)

“After many weeks of talking with the coordinators and experts at the Second Life Tournament Association and the Double Dragon Academy, and others, we have finally created THE top of the line in Jousting, Archery and Melee Competition Systems.” Jotow announced at the SLTA Anniversary.

Pictured is the jousting list which is based on specifications of the National Jousting League in RL. The detail is complete down to the ‘spur rail’ few but professional RL jousters know of. But is much more, and unifies all three major medieval sports, Jousting, Archery, Sword scoring into one gaming system.

THE REAL DEAL

While compatible jousting systems are selling at $7000L, DVE is offering the complete system…Jousting List, Scoreboard, Archery Range

“THE WORKS” to SLTA group members for $100L!

The regular price on Marketplace will be L$1000! This special group and marketplace price indicates DVE is motivated by service to the jousting community more then the pocketbook.

This will be a professional level entry system that any jouster can own, not just the well funded Sim Owner.

“I come before you this time not as a fellow participant in the grand games. But as a recruiter and a maker of Computer Games.” Jotow commented, speaking of his RL background.

ABOUT DVE

Digital Vortex Engineering was born out of the need to consolidate multiple gaming development projects. Owned and ran by the team of Jason (in SL as Jotow) and Chris (in SL as Spectre). As this reflects their work in RL, they bring a level of sophistication and economy to their scripting and graphics.

“Don’t get me wrong folks,” Jotow added in his talk. “There are a few great systems already in place and they deserve to be applauded. But its time to get the SL Residents INTO THE JOUST! INTO THE RANGE and INTO THE RING!

DVE hopes to make this happen.

UPDATE: August 2014

A release date for the DVE system has been delayed. The Second Life Medieval Games Association group (SLMGA) has been created by owners Bri McMahon and Jotow Resident to promote the DVE system and in response to resolve divisions in the Jousting Community created with the formulation of the United Jousters in January of this year, and provide open support for the promotion of all medieval sporting events in SL.

UPDATE: October 2014

There have been no further release notices on the DVE system, and the Second Life Medieval Games Association group (SLMGA) has become a new group, the Medieval Games Fellowship (MGF). Jousters 4 Jousters and Virtual Jousting League groups will merge with the new group, to continue the mission of the SLMGA.

UPDATE: April 2016

After a little more than two years after its announcement, completion of the DVE system has been announced in a recent message from Bri McMahon of the Medieval Games Fellowship sent in notice to major groups April 7, 2016. The system provides for a freestyle jousting list, archery range and melee arena in one systems, available from a menu.

I would like to announce that we have finally completed the Medieval Games System. This System has a Jousting List, Archery Range and Melee Ring in one system via menu. This also comes with a Tournamanet Board. We have the Archery Range set up at Tamerlane Arena for you to try out, next week we will have the Melee Ring setup. Any question, comments or suggestions, please send them to Jotow or Spectre Draconia. Thanks!
