Trophy room showcases memories of hard work, friendships and achievements in SL

Many medieval players in Second Life display the honors they garner in competitions and programs on their walls to preserve memories of their accomplishements. But recently we saw a display in the office of Stormy Summerwind, an elite Knight in the Realm of Dragons Lair, who is using her achievements to inspire new players to strive for their best with honor, fair play, and hard work.

On most days you might find her helping these new players navigate medieval role-play or mastering medieval games, such as joust, sword melee and archery. Then again you might find her facing you in the joust lists at various Medieval Sims, where she demonstrates her prowess; always placing in the top 10 list of jousters awarded annually by the SL Tournament Association (SLTA) at their Anniversary each June.

NOTE: The SLTA will be celebrating its 8th annual Anniversary June 7, 2019.

She brings an impressive resume to these endeavors, earning a Master of Lance and Gold Level Certification in each of the three medieval sports of Joust, melee and archery from the Double Dragon Academy (DDA). Excellence in all three earned her the title of Gold Level Warrior.

She has gone on to earn Silver and Iron Certification levels in Joust, and has assisted the DDA as an instructor and host of jousting events for the community.

We wanted to share images from her office to provide ideas for others wishing to showcase their awards and honors earned in SL.

"The awards I have earned through the Double Dragon Academy and the SLTA are proudly displayed in my office at Dragon's Lair not out of boastfulness but because each of them represent very fond memories of time spent bonding with my Brothers and Sisters in the Academy, practicing, working hard toward a goal and then achieving that goal.

Some of the best people I have ever met in my SL or my RL I've met here through the DDA and that is what I see when I look around at my awards which are really Our awards for I would not be as I am without each person and the roles they have played in my life and jousting career here in SL."
