On March 1st 2024, the ACADEMY OF THE DOUBLE DRAGONS officially opened its DRAGONS LANDING Campus following the close of its KISMET NORTHWINDS Campus in January.

Thanks to the patronage of King Lonestar and Queen Rose ShiningStar, the pairing of the DOUBLE DRAGON ACADEMY and DRAGONS LANDING couldn't be described as anything, but 'Kismet' given the image of the 'Double Dragons' both share in their respective Coat Of Arms.

It's a perfect pairing given the Academy announcements in the past for its shift away from offering large tournament venues in favor of focusing on its Certification Programs and Testing. So if you are looking for a great tournament setting, you will find it in the growing Medieval community of Dragon's Landing.

Joining the SLTA as Host of Dragon Lance Tournaments in December of 2023, the Realm of DRAGONS LANDING has expanded to include Sky-based facilities for tournament Jousts, Archery and Melee. With expansive grounds for Squad Battles, Horseback Archery and more. On the surface is a growing medieval community of shops, services and cottages.

The latter is perfect for those wanting to take up residence in a growing medieval community and take a unique roleplay journey as a cadet of the Academy or post-graduate pursuing certification through the Academy's Programs for Lance, Blade and Arrow GOLD, SIVER, IRON and STEEL levels.

So visit and take a teleport to test your DDA weapon skills in it's Skybox Testing or participate in Dragons Landing schedule of events in its fine tournament facilities.

Like most places of higher learning, the DDA will still have a athletics program, hosting a few legacy events in its modest Skybox ARENA, formerly known as JOUST III. These will primarily be used for their rotation in the SLTA Intersim tournament or rotational Wednesday Jousts to count towards the DDA Final Four awards. It will also be the traditional locale for hosting of the annual SLTA Anniversary Awards in June.

Please visit anytime. The DDA is open 24/7 so you can progress in the certification process at your own pace, unaided, with self-testing SKILL QUESTS.

"Mae the high road bae ever afore ye!"

UPDATE 7/24/2024 - Queen Rose Shining Star Gone

Do to a long heated personal situation involving Lady Rose and myself. She is no longer a member of Dragon's Landing. She angrily made the decision to leave my groups. Therefore she no longer has any authority at my Realm. I hope she has success in her future endeavors. I leave it to you to believe whatever she says. I will no longer have anything to do with her outside the MGA.

UPDATE 7/31/2024 - Double Dragon Academy Gone

The DDA is no longer in Dragons Landing per King Lonestar's request.  We respect his right to decide the people and services he wishes to have on his sim, and thank him for his kind patronage of the DDA. Plans for relocation have begun.

Commander Bella was scheduled to host the DDA Wednesday Knight Fights that evening and felt the short time frame and reasons given were unfair.  As it was an inconvenience to her and the community, she wished to share her observations.

UPDATE 8/2024 - Director Emeritis, Bella Denver

I was preparing to host the Wednesday Knights Fight at the DDA, as I had for many years, and going over the Joust Board when the DDA Headmaster received an IM and notecard from King Lonestar’ demanding the DDA be gone from his sim within the hour.

The Headmaster shared those IM's with me in real time, and the chat/emails when the King first offered his patronage.  It was without condition, and the King agreed to all conditions the DDA had.  In the five months the DDA was in Dragons Landing, there wasn’t a peep of a problem from the King.  Nor any sign of conflict or issue to justify his action.

Instead the King had invented a list of conditions never shared previously with the Headmaster until his IM to vacate. The King wasn’t looking for clarity or resolution. He simply wanted to ‘hit and run’ , which in medieval parlance is the way of the coward, not the gauntlet thrown.

His conditions ranged from lame to blame, but it became quickly clear he had simply changed his loyalties from the SLTA to the MGA like they were rival gangs. Which is absurd since the SLTA and MGA have always had close ties and supported each other.

The King was in a real panic to get the DDA gone before I hosted the joust that evening, which I consider a disservice to the members of the group he says he supports. So perhaps someone else was pulling his strings.

Forester took the high road in complying without complaint, since the DDA was there at the Kings behest.  I travel that road myself, until the other person can’t reach that high. The King is about as low as they go.

The funny thing is... I had shared my concerns with the Headmaster about the stability of Lonestar’s sim transitioning so quickly from Cowboy Town to Renaissance Fair, and the stability of his relationships after recently dumping his Queen. So it came as no surprise he would flip off his commitments like a light switch.

I will note his support for receiving SLTA awards had not changed, and wanted to make sure those would be sent.

Dragons Landing's brief stay in Second Life comes to a end, with its owner King Lonestar citing RL conflicts.
