Capt. Blinker, head of the United Jousters released a group statement Monday, March 31st, clarifying his policy on boycotting other Jousts:
"We should assure ALL members of this group that we hold nothing against them for associating with the DDA/SLTA! Although so of us have our reasons for boycotting the DDA/SLTA it no way affects how we feel about our members. The only impact it will have on some is that there will be some of us that will not attend an event SPONSORED by them. Please remember we are boycotting them not our member or the venue!"
A few days later on April 2nd, others in the United Jousters had their reactions to the practice of boycotts.
Arya (siali.rexie) who hosts a regular joust in Darkwolfe expressed her her experience with other UJ group members in group chat Wednesday.
"many dont come to my jousts just because I joust stla events and hold it against me, its wrong :/"
Ricci Jullesse, organizer of theRelay4Life Jousts, of which the SLTA is sponsor also commented.
"Same here my damn charity joust has been hurt by this.. They say is hasn't But they are wrong...this time last year we raised 25,000L this hear we have barely cleared ten....to not ride in a charity joust no matter who holds or supports it is just freaking wrong in my eyes"
Earlier in the day, during the UJ's official meeting Bella Denver, staff member of the SLTA posted her opinion on the practice of boycotts. The SLTA hosts a Team Charity Joust every month.
"The Capt can claim the UJ is better all he wants, and try and spin it in glowing terms. But the meeting and chat record is quite clear. UJ is not even in the same league as Forester or the SLTA/DDA who has never resorted to the kind of toxic behavior of boycotts and bashing some of the UJ members are engaged in. I mean, what kind of sick mindset boycotts charity jousts to help those suffering from disease simply because of petty politics?"
