The Intersim Joust is on season break until June 20th. But Season IV has officially begun for all other jousts in June. Both this season and last are online, as are additional blog posts on the SLTA Anniversary. SLTA Team events finish at the end of October, so awards will be later in the year.
It was a gala affair and ended with a grand fireworks display, and dance in the DDA Dragon Pit with DJ Brevyre Demonspell. With many speakers covering various topics, here are a few of the memorable passages.
REVIEWING OUR YEAR
“I also have the honor of being the Archery Instructor for the DDA, I am proud to bring my talents and knowledge to bringing back the Archery Program to the Double Dragon Academy and to the residents of SL.
It is my desires to bring forth a weekly set of courses that will be presented at near random on a variety of topics pertaining to the World of Archery both in SL and in the Real World. The Path of Arrow at the DDA is a great and strong program, and I can only hope that my contributions will take it a small step further.”

“Now, this season, we will be offering all three classes for joust, archery and melee combat, with tournaments for each, therefore creating a path to make certification more readily available to those who desire excellence.
Speaking of the classes and tournaments now turns my attention to the people who help make it all happen. Forester Lowenhart, Bella Denver, Ricci Juliesse and of course the SLTA, I commend you on your selfless endeavor to benefit the community as a whole and appreciate your friendship and allegiance to all of us making this truly feel like a family.”
~ Nephilim Ventris
“I would like to talk a little bit about the Jousting League which was first announced at the SLTA Anniversary last year.
Perhaps one of the most useful new features is the website for checking joust standings in SL. With the end of the season, the clock has been reset, and all start at zero. The joust season is filled with promise. Who will be our leaders this year?”
~ Forester
SHARING OUR FUTURE
“After many weeks of talking with the coordinators and experts at the Second Life Tournament Association and the Double Dragon Academy, and others, we have finally created THE top of the line in Jousting, Archery and Melee Competition Systems”
~ Jotow

“As a host, I am ecstatic about the direction the SLTA is going…Leadership has gone in a new direction. The Realm Leaders have picked up the reigns, allowing hosts and also officials and competitors to have a more active role with how the SLTA conducts itself and holds events…. So far the round tables have been democracy at it's finest.
The SLTA along with hosts and competitors alike are forming a tight bond of unity. All are welcome to join, to compete, host, or spectate”

WELCOMING FRIENDS
“Forester Lowenhart looks around the room and jokes…
After our first Intersim in Nevermore I thought that would be our final, given the name. So glad it wasn’t.”
I see Lord Nyza taking notes. But must warn him. We may soon need to re-name UJ to “SLTA2” if they keep offering all the same events.”
But let us not loose sight of the big picture… One of the chief reasons for the Intersim movement was to free riders from the isolation of their own individual Realms so they could joust without boundaries (lances & lists)… As I look at the horizon dotted with new jousts, I am happy to say our ship has now sailed… following a compass heading the SLTA charted 4 years ago.

SALUTING OUR JOUSTERS
“Then I met my Niece, Princess Ricci in October and she rekindled my interest in jousting and brought me to the DDA, where I was able to learn and grow as a jouster…. I recall the first match was nerve wracking, but once you get your first match win or even your first hit in a match your hooked, least was for me *smiles.
~ Cynthiagale Of Darkmatter
“One Saturday morning I went and there were only a few entered into the tournament, so I decided to throw caution to the wind and add my name :) This began my passion and addiction to jousting.
The more I participated the more I grew to love this great sport. Shortly after I began my cadet training. The DDA offered training and support, but at my own pace.”
~ Kalivrahu Of Ensombre De Sabbat
TRACING OUR PAST
“I first began planning for a Grand Tournament Joust inspired by my reading of EGLINTON TOURNAMENT, which was a re-enactment of a medieval joust held in Scotland on Friday 30 August, 1839. It presaged the historical re-enactments of today.
This lead to a conversation with a former Knight of USK, Bishop Letov on April 29, 2011 where I detailed plans for a Grand Tournament. On June 5, Bishop arranged a meeting with his good friend, a Knight of USK, Bono Niekierk. A partnership was formed, with the DDA and MISS presenting the Intersim (Joust).”

REMEMBERING THE FALLEN
This year we saw the return of a great event, The Relay For Life Charity Joust (ACS). After adding in the sales of the raffle tickets which i found out later we actually raised more this year than we did Last year”
~ Ricci Juliesse
“Charities are never about raising money... They are about raising Hope… Both (Bella & Ricci) deserve many thanks. Together their combined organizational efforts have helped raised $63,000L so far this year to help many in need...”
~ Forester Lowenhart
