In November, the SL Tournament Association (SLTA) launched a new community website to track the results of tournaments for JOUST, MELEE, ARCHERY tournaments, as well as OTHER Tournaments a Realm may host, such as Ship Battles, Horse Racing or Magic.

The site is accessible directly at:

http://sltournament.wix.com/sltournament

Or via the Jousting League and Double Dragon Academy (LEAGUE) websites:

The new website, features the standings for all SL jousts, courtesy of the JOUSTING LEAGUE and provides tracking services to all Realms for posting the results of their Archery, Melee and Other tournaments. It also provides a Tournament Calendar to post their event. Realms interested in posting tournament results through a simple form, or to the calendar should contact:

SLTournament Resident, available by an email form on the website.

ABOUT THE SLTA

The group profile states...

'Founded in 2011, the SLTA offers Intrasim support to all Realms hosting Tournaments in Joust, Melee, Archery and other competitions in the spirit of the Olympics. Free to join, open to all.'

The group was created to promote Inter-Realm tournaments, beginning its stewardship with the 'Cry The Tournament' Intersim joust in June 2011 and the hosting of Monthly Championships in Joust, Archery and Melee for the DDA in October 2011. It was the organization to track the results of jousters and honor their performance in an annual awards celebration.

The following year it began promoting and hosting SL's first Intersim Monthly Team Jousting event. In Spring of 2014, governance was transfered from the stewardship of ranking staff members to all participating Tournament Hosts, who have notice rights to promote their events.

The group features very low operating overhead with few rules or regulations. It may provide best practice guidelines, but encourages each host to establish the rules and equipment which define their tournament best. The group uses a consultive 'Round Table' approach where no one voice is less then another. Decisions for change or update require unanimous consent or are tabled for later discussion and approval. Benefits available upon request include:

1) Sending notices

2) Posting results to website

3) Tournament hosting kit

4) Grid wide poster promotion

5) Annual awards

6) Seat at SLTA roundtable

7) Tournament Calendar

Participating hosts rotate events between Realms.
