Virtual Jousting League ends tournament hosting

The Virtual Jousting League (VJL), recently revived last January 19, 2017 as a separate jousting group after merging 2 1/2 years ago with the 'Medieval Games Fellowship', ended active tournament hosting for an 'indefinite time' after 3 1/2 months of operation.

In a public announcement April 15, 2017 to Medieval Sports & En Garde! Communities, VJL's founder Nyza Stillwater cited low turnout, lack of time and energy by hosts, and increased obligations and opportunities in personal lives as a reason for the decision.

"When something such as hosting because more an obligation rather than something you simply enjoy, you know the time has come to possibly stop doing what it is you are currently doing."

In related announcements, the VJL announced 'Final Standings & Recognitions' in a "Commemoration Ceremony" held Thursday, April 13, 2017.

The final tally for participations was EIGHTEEN (18) players in TEN (10) tournaments, many of whom were thanked for their support and honored for their participation and performance:

#1 Most Tournaments Attended - Stormy Summerwind and ElvaWilmarie.

#2 Most Points Award - Stormy Summerwind (52).

#3 Best Grade Point Average Award - Nephilim Ventris (GPA 7.3 out of 8.0).

#4 Most 1st Place Wins - Alexarya, Nephilim Ventris, and Stormy Summerwinds (2 each).

#5 Most 2nd Place Wins - Nephilim Ventris (4).

#6 Most 3rd Place Wins - Stormy Summerwinds (3).

#7 Most 4th Place Wins - ElvaWilmarie (3).

#8 Most Valuable Players - Nephilim Ventris, Stormy Summerwinds, ElvaWilmarie Resident, Alexarya Resident.

#9 "E for Effort" Award - ladyfishbait Resident.

Stillwater did not rule out a return of the group at some later date.

"Will we host again? Well for some of you, this isn't the first time I've written a 'stopping hosting' announcement *laughs*, so I'll just say, as long we have the itch, you can expect another tournament at some point in the future, but I cannot say when."
