COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS

Happy 10th Birthday DDA! To celebrate the Double Dragon Academy's Decade Of Service in Second Life, we will be showcasing a look at its history in an Exhibition in the coming year at the Museum Of Tournament.

But first we wish to celebrate all of our 2019 cadets and graduates who have earned their MASTERS, GOLD, SILVER, IRON and STEEL advanced certification degrees.

Each has been individually recognized and rewarded earlier in the year, but they are compiled online each year in a comprehensive online list on the inaugural date of the DDA on October 25, the Anniversary day of the Battle of Agincourt.

While each student has achieved an admirable achievement through their hardwork and dedication, rewarding their individual performance goes beyond providing personal recognition or a place of honor on in the hallways of the Academy.

In the past such individual achievements did not have widespread acknowledgement, and although the DDA is justly proud to have been the first institution to provide this framework, it was not our only intent.

The chief goal of the DDA is to provide a robust set of programs and standards for competition, testing, mentoring and service to provide each student a successful and supportive platform to make a positive and meaningful contribution in their role play community and home realm of choice.

As they go forth, we hope each continues to embody the Code of Conduct they embraced as a cadet to guide their journey and “take the high road”. Regardless of future decisions, know that such was their station at the time of graduation, so leave them with these words.

"As long as decency and respect guide your steps, long lasting success, honorably earned, will always be yours."

For those moving on, you will be missed but the DDA never intended to keep its students cloistered behind its walls. Like any institution of higher learning, we could not be prouder to celebrate each student, teachers and leader who used the DDA program to begin a journey of their own.

Please join me in thanking our Directors, Deans and Instructors for their service this past year, and in congratulating our graduates.

- Forester Lowenhart, Headmaster
